 What?

Through help from The Netherlands we are able to help where it’s needed, through:

- the medical aid fund

- the fund for schooling, study and literacy

- the assistance fund

- various projects, such as

 clothes for refugees (2001)

primary school (2003)

housing project (2003-04)

save a school in Batié (2005-09)

 How?

- Medication, surgery, specialist treatments, rehabilitation

- Transport costs, means of transport

- Bags of rice, maize, millet in times of famine, sowing seed

- money for school, books, school materials, school meals, rent for room

- clothes, (reading) glasses, solar energy lamps

- Several special projects

Housing project

In August 2003 there has been such heavy rainfall, that practically all houses in the village Kodjo collapsed. Days afterwards you could still hear houses collapsing. Whole supplies of millet, maize and other food were flushed away and also the sowing seed for the next year was taken by the water. We are very thankful that with help from the Netherlands we were able to build 36 houses in Kodjo and 12 in Batié. In consultation with a committee that was formed on site, we decided to build the houses as follows: a living room and a bedroom on a solid foundation, with a roof of corrugated  sheets.

Housing project: in 2010 the people are still very happy with it!!
